Tip 2
After a severe storm, be careful when using an electrical appliance. If your home was flooded due to a storm, avoid using any appliances that may have been wet until they are inspected by a service dealer. It may be a hassle to go a day without one of our everyday appliances; however, to ensure your safety it is extremely important that you take this precaution.

Tip 3
Never attempt to repair or install electrical cords unless you are authorized to do so. Let a professional deal with any electrical issue you may have.

Tip 4
If you happen to run into a downed power line, be sure to step at least 10 feet away from it. Your body conducts electricity and it can cause harm to you if you touch the power line. Be sure to call your utility company right away to report the downed power line and ensure everyone's safety. Also, if someone you know has received an electrical shock, do not touch that person.
